May 25th - Hildy has fun in the desert sun

We took a vacation south to see my
life long BFF Mary Ann. 
Starting in Northern California we had a 14 hour drive
to Sparks, Nevada where we spent the night.  
The next day we drove through the desert for 12 hours to Pahrump, NV

First stop - Shoshone, CA

September 23rd - Good Morning!

Today we are in Redding California.
 We are on our way to "Street Vibrations" in Reno, NV 
It's a street fair for bikers with entertainment and
fun organized rides around Nevada.
There will even be a ride to Lake Tahoe!

June 28th - Red Roof Inn

Drive, stop, walk Hildy.
Drive, stop, walk Hildy.

We are staying at the beautiful
Red Roof Inn in beautiful Sacramento!

October 14th - Women of Faith

This last weekend a group of girlfriends
traveled to Portland, Oregon to the Women of Faith conference.

Dinner was at a Brazilian Restaurant
 Helga, who is Brazilian was excited to have us experience an
 authentic meal from her home country.

   

After a delicious salad bar
the waiters, dressed as gauchos paraded by our table
with various meats and grilled pineapple
Everyone had tongs and as the waiter sliced, we grabbed it!
Yummy!!

Happy Birthday René !!

Now THAT was fun!

The end to a great vacation!

October 2nd - Day two - Maxine's house!

Maxine lives across the street from the ranch.

We headed over in the morning to see her charming farm house. 

And, of course, it was so cute - I had to share!

Maxine is 77

She is a widower.

She takes care of her gardens, birds and home all on her own.

She was very proud to show us her new tractor mower - she loves it!

 

 

 

In addition to her many flower gardens, 

Maxine was also growing corn and squash. 

She blessed us with an apple pie and home made bread!

It was wonderful!

October 1st - and later that day . . .

Fun at the Ranch!

Rod and Georgene's ranch has a quaint

1930's cottage with all the original fixtures.

It was like stepping back in time . . .

It was close to 100 degrees, and even hotter in the house!
